John
"JC" Carter was born in London England and is an unabashed
jazz and Sinatra enthusiast. While very much appreciative of other
fine vocalists such as Tony Bennett, Mel Torme, Nat King Cole, Billy
Eckstine and Joe Williams etc, the 'main man' has always been the
Chairman Of The Board, Francis Albert Sinatra.
"He was one of a kind," says JC. "He may have departed
from our ranks but his music will always live on. Who else could sing
a ballad like him and who else could swing like him. If you have a
taste for musical excellence, then Sinatra is your man."
JC's song stylings have a strong Sinatra influence and he says that
in some small way, he feels he is just helping to
keep the sound alive. "I think main stream music has taken some
strange directions in the past decade or so and it is very encouraging
when I see the younger people in the audience enjoying the Sinatra
Song stylings. Maybe there is hope for us all he says with a wink!
People hearing JC for the first time often make a remark that he reminds
them of a blend of Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett. "What a great
compliment that is," says JC. "I mean, it doesn't get much
better than that."
